Chocolate Chia Smoothie

Are you the type of person that likes to start the day off with a nice protein packed meal that sits light in the tummy and tastes like a decadent dessert? Whip up this smoothie tomorrow morning and you may find yourself making it every morning here on out. Ground chia and frozen banana give this shake bulk for a filling consistency, while cacao powder and a few drops of stevia to sweeten it up will trick you into thinking you're eating a chocolatey dessert for breakfast! And that is never a bad thing.
Ingredients 3 tablespoons ground chia seeds ($.30)
4 tablespoons hemp protein powder ($.30)
2 bananas, frozen ($.70)
1 cup cold almond milk ($.40)
2 tablespoons cacao powder ($.40)
a few drops stevia
a few chopped pistachios ($.05)
Directions In a blender, combine all ingredients except for the pistachios. Puree until very smooth. Top with a few chopped pistachios, if desired.
